Services
Night Service
Our night taxi service operates throughout the night, providing reliable transport between midnight and six in the morning. We accommodate hospital shift changes, journeys home after evenings out in Barnstaple town centre and early departures for flights. We also collect passengers arriving on the last train. Our service operates around the clock, with fares agreed before departure.
Local Taxi Rides
We provide local taxi journeys throughout Barnstaple and the surrounding areas of North Devon, including Bideford, Braunton and Ilfracombe. Whether you need transport for shopping, work or appointments, our taxi service covers a wide range of local destinations. Customers can arrange their journeys conveniently by telephone, WhatsApp or through our online booking option.
Train & Bus Station Pickups
We provide reliable pickups from Barnstaple railway and bus stations, as well as Tiverton Parkway and Exeter St Davids for mainline train connections. Simply provide your scheduled train arrival time, and we will arrange for a car to meet you at the station. Our service accommodates train delays, ensuring your collection remains convenient even when services run late.
Airport Transfers
We provide airport transfers at fixed fares to Exeter, Bristol, Heathrow, Gatwick and all other UK airports. Our collection times are carefully calculated around your scheduled flight departure. For return journeys, we monitor your flight's progress to accommodate delays. This ensures that a late arrival will not leave you without your arranged transport.
Long-Distance & Executive Travel
We provide long-distance and executive travel throughout the UK, with saloon cars, executive vehicles and eight-seater options available. Our journeys from North Devon are often quicker than travelling by train. For groups of two or more passengers, our fares can also be more economical. Each journey is quoted individually based on your destination and travel date.
Hospital Taxi
We provide taxi services for hospital appointments, patient discharges, visiting hours and staff shift changes at North Devon District Hospital. For scheduled appointments, we plan journeys around your required arrival time. When collecting patients following discharge, we can wait while prescriptions are collected. Our service accommodates these different hospital transport requirements.
School Runs & Contract Work
We provide regular transport for school and college journeys, alongside staff travel and contract bookings. Our services include account arrangements with convenient monthly billing. For recurring journeys, we aim to allocate drivers from the same small, familiar team whenever possible. This approach helps ensure passengers recognise their driver and enjoy consistency in their daily travel.
Questions
Are your drivers local to North Devon?
Yes. Our drivers live and work in the Barnstaple area, so they know the road network, the shortcuts around town at school run time and the quickest route out to the A361 when you have a flight to catch. Local knowledge is the practical difference on a time-critical journey.
Are your vehicles insured for carrying passengers?
Yes. Every vehicle carries full private hire insurance for carrying paying passengers, which is a legal requirement for licensed operators and not something standard car insurance covers.
Who runs MyTaxi Barnstaple, and when was it set up?
MyTaxi Barnstaple is run by MyTaxi Barnstaple Ltd, a company registered at Companies House in September 2025 (company number 16752457). We operate from Station Rd, Sticklepath, Barnstaple, and a large share of our work is repeat bookings from regular passengers and local businesses.

Super reliable and reasonably priced taxi company. I pre booked our taxi for a Sunday morning at 1am from Barnstaple to Northam, I always worry that pre booked taxis won’t show up but I didn’t have this worry with My Taxi, at time of booking I was given a cost and text message confirming my booking. We also lost our house keys on the way home and the taxi driver was really helpful in returning them to us. Would highly recommend.
